Book Launch: A Week in Review (and Big News, Everyone!)

Where Arrows Fall has been out for over a week now, and I can’t be more grateful to all of you for your support. All in all, we distributed 23 free copies, sold five copies each of Where the Clouds Catch Fire and Where I Stand, and are now getting some reads on Kindle Unlimited!

I haven’t talked much about Kindle Unlimited on my blog, so I’ll explain it real quick. It’s a subscription that you can sign up for with either your Kindle or the Kindle app on your phone, and you’re able to read certain eBooks for free. And here’s the best part–I still get paid! Each month, Amazon puts millions of dollars into what they call their Creator Fund, and it gets split among all the Amazon authors whose books get read on Kindle Unlimited. It’s very much a win-win situation. All three of my books are available on Kindle Unlimited, so if you’re an avid eBook reader, it’s something I encourage you to check out!

That said, I have even better news.

It all started on Friday the third, the official launch date for my book. I’d been cooped up all week due to an ice storm, and things had finally melted enough for me to leave my house. So I did. I intended to go to a local coffee shop and ask how they felt about book signings. Instead, I got lost in downtown and wound up parked on Main Street.

I glanced out my car window and saw a sign that said “Sundrop Books.” Curious, I grabbed my bag (I’d brought copies of all three of my books with me) and headed in. Turns out, they’re a small independent bookstore that’s only been open for about six months. I asked them if they’d be interested in holding a book signing, and the owner said that she was actually trying to organize a large event with multiple authors. I don’t have a date yet, but it’s an event that I’m looking forward to and will let you know about as soon as I get the information!

And then the best part happened. The owner gave me a contract and asked if I’d like to sell my books in the store. After running over the contract with my father, I said yes.

At the moment, I’m waiting for Amazon to ship some books (they like to take their time with things). But as soon as my books are available, my social media will blow up with announcements. I’m also trying to arrange some other book signings. As soon as I get dates and times, I’ll be posting those as well. For the first time in my life, I have the opportunity to do a multi-state book tour! (Which, given that I live very close to a border, sounds much more impressive than it is.)

Once again, massive thanks to everyone who supported me through book launch weekend. If you were lucky enough to get a free copy, please leave a review! Reviews help my books get noticed by other people, and positive reviews are a great encouragement to me as well. If you haven’t gotten a chance to read Where Arrows Fall, please Click Here to see the book on Amazon. You have your choice of paperback and eBook.

Thanks again, dear readers.
