Twitter Q&A

Good morning, everyone! I’ve recently hit 2.5k followers on Twitter, which I think is a pretty cool milestone. I decided to celebrate by doing an anonymous AMA (Ask Me Anything) session, and I got…a lot of responses. I’ve already replied to several on Twitter, and I think people are getting bored, so I’ve decided to consolidate everything here. (Well, not everything, but the several questions I haven’t answered yet.)

Let’s go!

Q: Would you ever consider a long distance relationship with someone you met on social media?

A: No. I’ve tried long distance relationships, and I can’t handle it.

Q: How has writing books changed your life?

A: I might need to write an entire blog post on this topic. I’ve been writing books since I was ten, and I honestly can’t tell you what my life would look like if I’d never started writing. I wouldn’t have been an English major in college, which means I wouldn’t be qualified to teach at my current job. I wonder if I’d be married by now if I hadn’t started writing. Or maybe I would have just gotten into trouble. I feel like my mental health would be a lot worse, too.

Q: Best kind of donut?

A: The apple cider donuts specifically from Goebert’s Pumpkin Patch in northern Illinois.

Q: Marriage when

A: Whenever I meet a guy who isn’t taken or weird, who likes me back, and who lives less than an hour away from me.

Q: How did you get NGL [the app used to submit anonymous questions] to work on X? Only seeing insta and snap as options

A: You have to screenshot the message and then post it as a picture. Or, if you hold down on the message, there’s an option to save the message to your gallery without needing to crop the screenshot.

Q: Is 45min distance away still a dealbreaker for courtship?

A: I’m fine with a 45 minute drive–that’s how far I go to visit my parents. It’s when he lives over an hour from me that things get rough.

Q: On a scale of one to ten, why are dwarves an eleven and when will Cory be released?

A: Cory is honestly one of my favorite characters in my fantasy book, maybe ever. He exists as he does in honor of my great-grandfather, who was a coal miner in rural Missouri. His courage and sense of humor are legendary. I’ll probably release some snippets featuring him as I get further into editing my fantasy book, but the final product likely won’t be ready for at least a year, probably longer.

Q: Are Catholics Christian?

A: Yes. They believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, they’re doing their best to obey Him, and plenty of them (especially when you look at history) have given their lives for Him. That said, there are plenty of people who call themselves Catholic who aren’t Christians, but the same goes for Protestants.

Q: Have you ever considered the Catholic church?

A: Not beyond the expected cognitive dissonance you get after spending too much time on Twitter watching Catholics vehemently declaring that they’re right and everyone else is wrong. They have some points I admire–their reverence for the things of God, their self-denial, and such–but I have some issues that are less easily resolved. They take Marian veneration way too far, the papacy doesn’t make sense, and I’ve never once seen a Catholic admit they might be wrong about a theological issue, which is pride, which is a big problem. Besides, my parents were both raised in the Catholic church and left it, and I trust their judgment.

Q: How tall are you?

A: Five foot four. Exactly average.

That was fun! Maybe I’ll do this again sometime, I quite enjoyed it! Do you have any questions you’d like answered? If so, drop them in the comments below and I’ll answer them! God bless you, dear readers, and don’t forget to review us on Amazon!
