A Change of Plans

Is November almost here already?

Here’s the thing, guys. I know I told you I’d try to get Where Arrows Fall out in November. But I’ve only gotten beta reader feedback on the first half of my book. I don’t have a cover. I’m so busy with my day job that my house is lucky if it gets swept and mopped once a month. I’m exhausted.

Where the Clouds Catch Fire was published on January 1, 2019. Almost four years ago. And I’ve done a lot since then. I’ve gone through college, graduated, moved out, and held a handful of jobs. I’ve survived a global pandemic. I’ve met my birth mother and buried my grandmother. And I hope that things work out so that I’m able to publish Where Arrows Fall on the fourth birthday of the book that started it all.

In the meantime, though, I know you’re hungry for content.

While I’m waiting for beta reader feedback, I’ve been working on another book. This one is completely different from my first three. It’s a fantasy novel centering around a young human boy named Maywin teaming up with an elf and a dwarf in an effort to find a race of magicians who can cure his mother’s magical sickness. I’ve written a short story featuring the main characters, and I’ll be posting it as a $.99 eBook on Amazon. I’ll let you know when it’s up, of course.

In the meantime, enjoy this beautiful fall weather and stay healthy! By God’s grace I’ve managed to avoid getting anything more than a single cold this school year, and I’m especially grateful because a couple of my students had a ten-day stomach bug. (That said, I’ve had to deal with some bugs of my own–bugs of the earwig, cricket, and spider variety. My landlord is getting me some new weatherstripping and I hope that helps things.)

God bless you, dear readers, and don’t forget to review us on Goodreads and Amazon!
